Is it a beaver?

It sure seemed to look like a beaver. Though to be honest I've never seen a real beaver. I mean sure, I'm Canadian, Beavers are like a national animal, they are on TV, cartoons, jokes... But except for the shaved kind, I have't really seen a real one before. LOL.
Anyways, after this interesting event this morning I had a bunch of funny thoughts in my head for the rest of the journey. It's quite funny because there is lots of different animals and bugs all over the place.
Now Siri is the nature loving sort, not the hairy bushed tree hugger, but the kind of person who would pickup a snail and move it to the otherside of the street so it wouldn't die a horrible death, eats eco-friendly foods, and is a vegetarian. I on the other-hand eat like a kilo of meat a day, swill beer, and though I consider myself somewhat of an outdoors person who loves nature and tries to recycle and have a low impact on the environment I wouldn't say that I would go so far as to help bugs in distress.
Sure I don't go out of my way to step on bugs, but from time to time I have this urge to stomp down hard on one just to see how far it will splat!
And what about electric fences, what would really happen if I pee on it?
So basically I think I'm going to go have another Beck's Beer and look at my new pet named "Needles." I'm thinking of painting some little eyes on him.
UPDATE - So I have had a few people tell me that the beaver I so dearly love isnt so much a beaver as it is a muskrat... Shucks.
UPDATE2 - So I have been looking at a bunch of pictures and I dont know, I couldnt really see the tail as it swam and I still think it might be a beaver. So I am going to call an expert on the subject. Or rather a animal biology teacher... So the email is going out, I will be posting the results when they come in. For the record, I checked the web to confirm that beavers do exist here, and they do heheh

Plus Canadian Beavers tend to be Bitchy Animals and Like to drain the account of the mail species.... Ohhhh wait wrong beaver.
I would have to say it is a beaver. The tail looks flat so it would have to be a beaver. Beavers are found in Europe and are not just a North American Species.
