Yesterday and Today

Yesterday I did a curry run in to town and decided to walk back. I ended up in a slum/shanty town and it was very different from ones I'd seen in the past.

Normally when you go to a slum area, you feel very unwelcome. "Why is this person here looking at us," sort of thing. But this was different, every adult man and woman said "hi" asked where I was from, if I liked their country, how long I was staying and so on.

What I found more strange is how the adults were the very social ones. Normally kids are the first to run up and talk. They waited back to see what their parents were doing then slowly crept forward.

It was a really neat walk.

Today I was tired when I woke up, Friday nights are always "Happy Dreams" night. Why? Mefloquine before bed baby! =) I had some very vivid dreams and woke up a little dazed and sweaty. Sweaty from the heat here, Dazed from the dreaming.

Anyways I mailed a airmail package back home. Which means my parents have some work to do =) Check your e-mail mom & dad for more information.

Weird thing is airmail was 100 rupees cheaper than seamail for 1 KG... WTF?

So I paid up my hotel bill for the whole stay plus pre-paid my taxi to the airport and I have about 1500 rupees to eat and internet for a day and a half.

Considering when I eat curry I can't spend (or rather eat) more than 100 rupees worth, I think I'm going to be fine.

The picture is two great things. Curry potato in bread triangle thing and Dhal thingy. Yep I am pretty ignorant to food names here. I always play point at the food to get it, then the hand sign for the amount I want of said item.

And for the flood of e-mails asking about Siri... Yes I miss her, yes I plan on seeing her again. No I won't tell you where. Watch the blog and it'll happen eventually.

LOL -- if she wants to see me? =)
(Let's see if she is reading my blog?)

OK - One more thing to say
"TUK TUK DRIVERS ARE THE PIMPS OF EVERYTHING" if ever you need to find anything in a country that has a TukTuk, seriously just ask them. It doesn't matter what it is.

Things I've been offered:
- Driving Tours
- Women (Men?)
- Alcohol (Where prohibited)
- Drugs (Light or Hard)
- Animal Parts (Illegal types)
- Weapons
- Cameras
- Money Exchange
- "Massages"

I personally suggest that you put them to good use, in finding hard to find items, like Condoms, Good Food, Unusual Events and Toilet Paper which can be elusive in sometimes.

Basically when it comes down to it, if you know it exists, but can't find it. Ask 3 random TukTuk drivers and you will get what you want. If you are buying something illegal, no doubt he gets a commission for bringing you, so you shouldn't have to pay for the ride. LOL.
