Long Long Ride

Misc Birdies

It's such a wonderful feeling to go from city to city and constantly be meeting Brethren. I met WBro Dubey in Delhi also and we chatted indepthly about his Canadian Excursions so far!

I was just transiting through Jhansi on my way to Khajuraho... This is where all the sexy temples are, its a massive area of about 20 square kilometres but the largest site and pay site is next to the town centre, only a few hundred metres walk. I arrived at 7pm even though I boarded the bus in Jhansi around Noon. The bus was horrible. Just Horrible.

Take a bus built to hold 30 and stick in 80. Next, add this woman sitting in front of me with the worst body odour I have ever smelled. Seriously people, everyone has met or worked with that stinky someone... A few oagers from the military jump directly to mind =) (I don't need to give initials do I?) But I swear to you, that this woman was by far the worst smell ever, luckily as long as we were moving all the windows were open and the breeze kept it moving away, but any time we were idle or stopped it was almost gut wrenching. I don't know if it was just made worse by the fact that she was a female, normally men you expect to stink after a hard days work... but women general just don't stink like THAT. I know that she stunk far worse than one might expect, because even the local people on the bus had this anti-gravity push in a circle around her... I swear if she leaned one way the whole bus would shift over to compensate to make sure she was as far away as possible.

I met some Germans too! I haven't met very many in my travels but there were four of them together. One very attractive woman who I spoke to for quite some time works at the German Embassy in Delhi, she is roughly my age and she actually did an exchange student program sponsored by rotary to a high school in Langely, BC, Canada.... My home town is North Delta, BC, which is literally 20 minutes away (non-rush hour), too funny eh?

Anyways, after almost 7 hours on a bus I'm happy behind a computer at the Zen Hotel in Khajuraho, India. The hotel has rooms from 250-600 Rs and is very calm and relaxing, there is a water garden, nice friendly staff, and I saw a really cute little lizard stuck to the wall watching me eat roti. Bliss.
