Lots of Stuff

Because of the snow, I left Denmark after two days. I took the train back to Hamburg, which was discounted because we had to go on a bus where rail maintenance was being done.

It was a cool ride though, I met a really nice woman from Bremen, Christaine, who was in Copenhagen seeing her boyfriend who travels a lot with his work. We hung out and chatted on the ferry ride and more on the train. She is an artist, I'll post a link to her website when I am on a real computer. I haven't seen her work before and I told her I don't really know anything at all about art.

She told me about the bus systems in europe and some info on cheaper travel. So here I am today at the Hamburg ZOB Central BusPort waiting for my bus to Berlin! Much cheaper in deed... I can go to Paris for 29€ from here.... Wish I would have looked in to this sooner!

Christiane SMS'd her friend Anna in Berlin and this morning I had an e-mail saying it would be ok to spend a night or two! I have really been so lucky meeting people in my travels so far, when Christiane sms'd it was just to get some info on a possible youth hostel :)

Last night in Hamburg the hostel was great, really nice view of the waterfront... One of my roommates was named Christian and he and I scoped out the area in the evening. He was a Comp Sci grad so obviously we geek talked for quite some time!

Oh course, while in hamburg you must go to the Reeperbahn, which is about five blocks of porn and sex... I bought a few cans of beer from the store and we just wandered around... Lots of Donner shops, the owner kept warning it was hot spice he could put on.... I said yes of course... It was mild at best compared to chicken wings back home.

I was told about a Curryworst place in Munnich which apparently is quite renowned for their hot stuff... But I think perhaps the German palatte cant handle really hot stuff.... Mind you I built my tolerance up in the months before my trip... Hehe...

Will post more from chilly Germany later. It's sunny, but very cool, perhaps 3-6C plus windchill factor.

Thanks for the help Christiane, and it was great meeting another compu-weenie Christain.

I am on the bus now, 284km Hamburg-Berlin. About 3h 10m they say. Bus is nice, foot rest, nice seats, screaming baby... That kind of sucks, but ear plugs I've learned are the second most important item after your passport.
