Politics and Fries

So I was talking to aguy named Paul at the bar... Yesterday was elections an I guess a lot of people arent happy about all the immigrents from poorer countries who are leeching of their apparently good social system. I guess these sort of gripes are everywhere, their tax rate is about the same as ours on income tax.

Now, on to fries.... "I dont know where french fries came from, they are fries, Belgian fries!"

They also have a beer which is 8.5%, though in a beer store in Brussells I saw one that was 12.5%!

Anyways after three beers I walked around the city for three hours, I ate some fries and some beef stew stuff and a burger that was deep fried and covered in all sorts of strange stuff.

I am just chillin, full, and feet are a bit sore, watchin TV... I think its in Dutch. :)

The trucker who I hitched a ride from half way between Ghent and Antwerp asked me a funny question about Canada.... "I heard that you have to watch out for bears... Like you will run in to them 7/10 times you hike" -- I guess maybe in certain wilderness at certain times of the year... But generally no... I know some people who carry bells and spray just in case though...
