Permethrin
Permethrin is a really crazy bug spray. To the best of my knowledge you cannot purchase this over the counter in most stores. I believe it falls under the controlled pesticides zone of legislation.
This stuff will kill small animals and probably kill you if you don't be very careful when you apply it. Make sure you are in an extremely well vented area, wear a mask, gloves, eye protection, and generally don't let any of it touch you in any way.
You can spray it on your bug netting, outter tarp for your tent, and on other things that aren't next to skin. Do this well before you plan to wear/use any of the gear because you don't want the stuff touching you while fresh.
