Gerber Multi-Tool

One very handy item that is carried by half the soldiers in NATO is a Gerber Multi-Tool. Though Gerber is the brand name, there are many knock off versions of varying quality.

The Gerber multi-tool's are one of the most handly little items you will ever own, many people wear them on their belts all the time!

Generally the two most common uses are the knife and pliers to cut or pry at things. They are just an easy tool for everything from opening boxes to cutting zip-ties (zap straps) to opening a can of food while camping. It's like the big brother to the swiss army knife.

Enough ranting about this I suppose, but honestly if you are going to invest in one compact tool... get a multi tool like this, if you want a quality one, go with the Gerber variety!
