Bushnell PowerView Binoculars
I can't count the number of times when I've been sightseeing and I've wanted a better look at something... Too often I've cursed those darn coin-operated binoculars at tourist hotspots...
One great investment for the outdoors type is a good set of binoculars, personally I like a small lightweight and compact binocular. I purchased this set of binoculars from Canadian Tire a couple of years ago...
These are Bushnell PowerView Binoculars with the following specs:
7-15 x 25 (power)
7x: 262 Feet @ 1000 Yards
15x: 183 Feet @ 1000 Yards
They are super lightweight, not much bigger than one hand and have excellent quality zoom.
I highly suggest not cheaping out on binoculars, generally speaking people buy one set in their lifetime, unless you drop them they will probably last forever. Go to the store, try them out and see what is comfortable for you.
I like to go in the store and zoom in the furthest wall and try to read a sign or view a very small item as to gauge the quality. But if you are a bird watcher perhaps long distance isn't what you are looking for. Maybe you want a larger viewing area from a distance of 100 yards. Test them out and see what works for you...
