Garmin eTrex Venture GPS

I've had this GPS for about 4 years or so, bought it while I was down in Trenton, Ontario. I enjoyed doing Geocaching and it's a good reason to go for a hike to somewhere new. This GPS has accompanied me up to the North Pole, and all across Canada and is now ready to move on to the next leg of it's journey, a global trip... Yippie!
This GPS isn't too fancy, it's got the basics, with the major cities around the world programmed in to it. It's more of a toy, or if I get going off the beaten path, I can use it to find my way back to civilization (assuming I don't run out of batteries, then I'm done for).
Now, because this has the little LCD screen, it of course has the same pitfalls as any other device... The cold weather. I found that walking around in -30C for 20 minutes makes the screen update so slowly and become extremely faded. Now you can keep it inside your coat and pull it out from time to time, however it takes a while to re-sync to the satellites. There isn't too many places where the weather sucks like -30C for long periods of time, but it's something to think of if you are visiting somewhere cold!
